Safety through center and purpose

At Full Circle Aikido we operate from a very different starting premise than other martial arts. True safety is not achieved by physical strength or even technique. The founder of Aikido realized martial effectiveness alone is not sufficient to meet the demands and dangers of life. Without purpose, center, and connection there can be no true safety. We all will suffer old age, injury, illness, and tragedy in our lives. A martial art that doesn't prepare you to meet these challenges is not sufficient. As such at Full Circle Aikido our training focuses not just on physical self defense, but more importantly the underlying principles that can be universally applied to the myriad of life's true challenges and dangers. While the dangers we face in life might be physical in nature at times, they will more often be finding a way to maintain harmony and peace in a world that is anything but safe or peaceful. Aikido will prepare you for both. Our students have used Aikido to not only maintain safety in real physical self defense situations, but the more challenging day to day life circumstances many ignore as part of self defense.
